Seasonal, sustainable ingredients will be sourced from local farmers, and unlabelled boutique wines selected in collaboration with the region\u2019s winemakers. The hotel will offer guests the same warmth and hospitality they experience at Sabi Sabi Game Reserve, he added, making it a perfect addition to a safari circuit.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the idea for Sandringham was first conceived during the pandemic when the team \u201cstumbled upon\u201d a derelict hunting reserve that had been uninhabited for around 15 years, Smit shared. &#8220;We fell in love with the potential,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>A four-year rehabilitation process followed, which focused on restoring the land\u2019s ecological integrity. \u2018Wildlife have reacted to us in a positive manner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Located northwest of Sabi Sabi in the Limpopo Province, Sandringham boasts a distinct character, shaped by its abundant water sources. \u201cYou&#8217;re always going to have water activities &#8211; giraffes drinking, hippos, African fish eagles,\u201d Smit said.<\/p>\n<p>While guests will still encounter the same animal species as they may find at Sabi Sabi, the environment provides a different perspective. \u201cAnimals do react differently when there\u2019s a lot of water around,\u201d he said.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_images_carousel images=&#8221;182394,182395,182396,182397,182398&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; autoplay=&#8221;yes&#8221; wrap=&#8221;yes&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1756098908361{margin-top: 15px !important;margin-bottom: 15px !important;}&#8221; title=&#8221;Renders of Sandringham Private Game Reserve&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1756098969889{margin-top: 15px !important;margin-bottom: 15px !important;}&#8221;]The new lodge will feature six luxury suites overlooking a lake and two family villas, with each suite equipped with a private stargazing sleep-out deck.<\/p>\n<p>Its architecture reflects a strong sense of place, with Smit referring to its \u201cbeautiful woodwork, lovely stonework, authentic, very African, very neutral interiors\u201d. The design prioritises open spaces, local materials and integration with the surrounding landscape.<\/p>\n<p>The region\u2019s transformation from a former hunting reserve into a sanctuary highlights the core values of the brand. <a href=\"https:\/\/latteluxurynews.com\/2025\/08\/15\/sabi-sabi-collection-empathy-approach-safari\/\">\u201cEmpathy towards environment\u201d is fundamental<\/a>, with every vehicle and activity designed to ensure that wildlife \u201cnever associate our presence with stress.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Smit shared that the reserve already supports a \u201cvery relaxed\u201d
