{"id":186620,"date":"2025-10-27T15:29:13","date_gmt":"2025-10-27T04:29:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/latteluxurynews.com\/?p=186620"},"modified":"2025-10-27T15:29:15","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T04:29:15","slug":"ex-virgin-aus-boss-scurrah-to-lead-fiji-airways","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/latteluxurynews.com\/2025\/10\/27\/ex-virgin-aus-boss-scurrah-to-lead-fiji-airways\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-Virgin Aus boss Scurrah to lead Fiji Airways"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Former Virgin Australia CEO <strong>Paul Scurrah<\/strong> has been appointed as the incoming <strong>Managing Director and CEO<\/strong> of <strong>Fiji Airways,<\/strong> effective 1 November 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In announcing the appointment, the Fiji Airways board highlighted Scurrah&#8217;s more than two decades of experience across aviation, transport, logistics and tourism, most recently as CEO of Australian rail freight company Pacific National.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his time at Virgin Australia, the nation\u2019s second-largest airline, Scurrah&#8217;s \u201cstrategic leadership&#8221; was credited with steering the airline through the trials of the pandemic, described as &#8220;one of the most turbulent periods in modern aviation&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/latteluxurynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/A350_fly-over-1-1-1132-x-560.png\" alt=\"Scurrah Fiji Airways\" width=\"1132\" height=\"560\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>His leadership style is described as \u201cmarked by operational discipline and a strong safety ethos,\u201d with the board highlighting his reputation for motivating diverse teams and delivering long-term results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The result of a comprehensive search process, the appointment sees Scurrah take the reins from outgoing <strong>Managing Director and CEO Andre Viljoen<\/strong> who is departing after a decade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board thanked Viljoen for his his &#8220;exceptional&#8221; leadership,\u201d under which Fiji Airways achieved significant growth, global recognition and post-pandemic recovery.
